Choosing Lube

A carefully chosen lubricant can effectively protect your health. It can also dramatically enhance your sexual experience and make you forever wonder why didn't you use it before. In reverse - absence of lubricant in many cases could be quite damaging to your body and your senses, especially!! if you care to venture into the anal play.
Use of a proper lubricant is equally important and beneficial for both women and men.
Also note that it is most important to use a lube that is specifically developed as a sexual lubricant. Good ol' Vaseline or Crisco, as well as household food oils might be cheap and somewhat effective. But they can also quite effectively cause yeast infections, vaginal acne and failure of latex condoms. Cheap and readily available in pharmacies lubricants like 'KY Jelly' or 'Surgilube' are designed for medical use, that is, for a brief one-time in-and-out penetration. We have reasons to believe that your idea of a fulfilling sexual experience extends far beyond this medical standard.

Today personal sexual lubricants come in many varieties that are sported primarily by the lube's ingredients. To choose the right lubricant for your own particular taste and intended use, please, consider the following notes about ingredients and their effects.

A good place to start is to consider the lube's 'base'.
Among modern sexual lubricants, the water-based ones are the most numerous. They vary in thickness, taste, aroma, longevity and, most importantly for some of us, in presence or absence of the glycerin ingredient. (See the notes about glycerin few paragraphs below). We collected them all for you at the 'water-based' category.

Silicone base is the fairly new fancy (and more expensive) development in sexual lubrication business. Modern silicone-based lubes offer the most remarkable longevity and effectiveness per drop of lube. They feel like oil creating a somewhat distanced tactile sensitivity which, in turn, can extend the rise of climax. These lubes are the most outstanding products, except for one objection - it is better not to use them along with silicon or silicone including toys. There are two silicone-base lubricants in our arsenal - Eros Bodyglide and ID Millennium.
N o t e. The first time many of us heard of silicone was probably in a context with breasts, that is - silicone breast implants. Which today sounds like big trouble. Many women are naturally concerned that silicone in a lubricant could be as dangerous as the one that got stuffed in breasts. Though related to the breast implant pure silicone, the lubricating compound is fundamentally different. The material in breast implants is a liquid silicone with loose molecules that when leaked can penetrate into the blood stream and cause devastation. In silicone toys, the material is processed so that the molecules are bound into a solid, though flexible structure. They can not revert into a liquid state and run away in a search of vulnerable blood vessels.

We carry only water- or silicone-base lubricants, with one exception - the Anal Lube. This lubricant has a very strict usability prescription that is explicitly stated in its name. This petroleum-based grease is very thick, fatty and rich providing the most cushioned friction in the course of anal penetration. Once again, it is solely intended for the anal use along with non-latex toys and condoms.

Now about the glycerin ingredient. For most women there is no particular pro- or contra- advises regarding this component. Yet others, who due various medical conditions (such as recent antibiotic treatment) are prone to getting yeast infections would do much better without glycerin in their vagina. As any live organism, yeast grows and multiplies when it has enough food. When the vaginal pH balance is off, the natural defense system is unable to combat and dismantle all those particles that are like yummy food to yeast bacteria. Glycerin in essence is a form of sugar, which makes it a great growth agent for the yeast. There are four glycerin-free lubes in our collection . Two are water-based - Hydra-Smooth and Slippery Stuff, and two - silicone-based - Eros Bodyglide and ID Millennium. Check them all out at the 'non-glycerin' category.

Considerations for other ingredients in sexual lubes are much less bounding and are entirely based on your personal preferences.

The thin and sensual water-based lubricants are the choice for people who prefer the least cushioned, most natural sensation. Here is the link to this category - 'thin & sensual'.

The thick and reach lubes give a more distanced feel reducing sensitivity and extending the pleasure. Check 'thick & reach' stack.

Some people like their lubes to be completely, absolutely tasteless. They would choose Probe or ID Glide.

Others in reverse think that the slick stuff they cover themselves with should have some pleasant smell and taste. The Wet Flavored lube will be of interest to them.

If you like everything to be as natural as possible, you should consider Probe or O'My Natural. Probe is an unquestionable champion in being as natural as it gets. It has the least ingredients and all of them natural. O'My Natural - is all true natural as it is stated in the name. It has few more ingredients that Probe though, including such as natural hemp. The lube has sweet flavor without chemical tinge to it.

I you are looking for a lube that can last for hours without drying, the silicone-based lubes are your best bet. Just few drops of extra long-lasting Eros Bodyglide or ID Millennium will last as long as you and beyond. Actually you will have to wash it off with worm water and soap. Check out 'long-lasting' collection.

If you have an under-water hot tub adventures in mind Eros and Millennium are the ones to keep handy. Go 'under-water'.

Finally, lubes for anal play. It worth repeating time and again that no anal intercourse ever should be conducted without a lubricant. In fact, if you think that you have put on a little too much, it is probably only almost enough. The thick rich long-lasting lubes are the best for anal use. Just keep in mind that Anal Lube is not good for use with latex condoms. And that silicone-based lubes cannot be used along with silicon toys. Here is the link to all anal lubes.
