About Materials

The material could be the single most important factor we base our decision upon when choosing a sex toy.

Soft or firm, cool or warm, clear or swirl-blue - it is all very much a matter of personal tactile and emotional preference and, of course, financial gallantry. Not surprisingly the higher quality, better feel and health safety of toy's material translates into a higher price.

We think it well worth it. Particularly because the material of a sex toy could have such a profound affect on health, safety and wellbeing of its user. After all even the most expensive sex toy cost less than a dinner for two at a fair restaurant. And, unlike one-time dining out, the toy will serve you good for many nights and years.

Silicone

The combination of silicon's superior characteristics renders this material as an uncontested champion for a sex toy of any kind.

To start with, it has a smooth silky non-porous surface which feels just tender enough and close to real flesh without being eerie. It warms up to body temperature very quickly and holds beautifully. It is flexible and much agreeable with your body contours. In vibrators it translates the vibrations remarkably well.
It is non-allergenic and has no smell. But it does come in the most capricious colors and blends.

All of the above creates a toy very congenial to the insertion into a vagina, anus, or any other sensual place.

Better yet, it is one of the easiest to clean. You can wash it with mild soap and water. If this doesn't seem enough, bleach it in a 10% solution, or boil it in water for 3 minutes, or simply leave it on a top shelf of the dishwasher. Just make sure it is rinsed well and dried before you put it away.

Well, all this wonderfulness doesn't come for nothing. Silicone toys are not the cheap ones. The material itself is expensive. Besides, production of silicone toys is still very much a cottage industry. There is no silicone toy that is made by machine. Each and every one is cast by human being, mostly - one at a time.

It is important to remember that silicone toys are not compatible with silicone-based lubricants. The lube's silicone will melt the surface of a toy making it gooey and yucky forever.

Also, silicone does not endure the cuts. Even a small tear will grow continually and eventually render the toy unusable. So make a point to keep it safe from sharp nails and playful cats.

Note. The first time many of us heard of silicone was probably in context with breasts, that is - silicone breast implants. Which today sounds nothing less then big trouble. Many women are naturally concern, how can a silicone sex toy be so good if silicone breasts are so very bad? Though related, the difference between two is quite fundamental. The material in breast implant is a liquid silicone with loose molecules that if leaked can penetrate into the blood stream and cause devastation. In silicone toys the material is processed so that the molecules are bond into a solid, though flexible structure. They can not revert into a liquid state and run away in a search of vulnerable blood vessels.

Jelly

Jelly is probably the most used material for the sex toys produced by large scale manufacturers. It is a flexible, rubbery material with texture and look of gummy candies. Soft and supple it comes in a rainbow of colors. Some people don't care for the rubbery sometimes quite sharp odor that is so characteristic for jelly toys. Jelly also has somewhat tacky fell and tends to collect lint and dirt too eagerly. But on a positive side the jelly toys are inexpensive alternatives to such materials as silicone or Cyberskin, which makes them a good choice for budget-minded people.
Some manufacturers and their jelly sex toys fall under suspicion about the chemical quality and safety of their products.
Our small selection of the jelly toys is carefully picked for the best quality and unique features.

Acrylic

Clear acrylic is a fairly new and fanciful material for sex toys. Its surface is silky-smooth, firm and warm to the touch. It is totally translucent and quite impressive. Dildos curved from clear acrylic look more like the art objects for a provocative display on a coffee table or fireplace mantel. When it comes to doing the job, these dills deliver an outstanding performance. Acrylic warms up to body temperature fairly quickly and retains it well. It cleans easily and can even take a dishwasher bath (just don't set it to a high heat). However, as anything else so beautiful and exquisite it will need gentle handling. It is very hard to break the acrylic but scratches certainly can degrade the good looks. Then again, even a very worn out scratched acrylic dildo will work just as well as it did when you first used it. Also, acrylic doesn't stand any kind of alcohol or other solvent. Unless you want your acrylic toy to look like really ancient artifact, don't try to clean it with anything containing alcohol. It will render not only the surface but the whole body of the toy with microscopic continuous net of cracks.

Metal

The only metal toy we carry is the Vaginal Barbell. The metal it is made of is the pure solid surgical grade stainless steel. There is no need to tell you much more. The weight, the coolness, the unfailing precision and performance, you know how it feels. And, of course, when cleaning you can do virtually anything imaginable to it.

CyberskinTM and similar (Futurotic, 3D, Real Touch, etc.)

This new soft plastic material was invented to duplicate the feel of real human skin. And it does feel very soft, pliable and warm, just like real tender skin. If you are looking for the most penis- or pussy- realistic toy, check out our CyberskinTM samples. Just like real skin, this material requires very delicate handling and care, and does not have a warranty for decades of rigorous use. Also, being so soft and real, the material is porous. A common solution for this inconvenience would be the condom sheath, which, in tern, deprives your CyberskinTM toy of its best feature. We recommend to keep such a toy for you exclusive solo use and do give it regular and tender cleaning treats. One more detail. There is some silicone present in these soft resilient materials. It might be advisable not to use a silicone-based lubricant on them. The 'ultra-realistic' material is a very close relative of CyberskinTM. Everything said about the latest is true for the first one as well.

Plastic

There are a number of remarkable toys that are made out of firm, cool plastic. Such top quality pure hard plastic vibes like Ultime, Apollo or Lipstick Vibe are smooth and most potent performers. The sleek deliberately and precisely curved surfaces bring an un-muted vibration directly to a clit, G-spot or prostate, or to any other spot you care to give a good vibe. They come in various most whimsical colors, have no odor and are fairly easy to clean with mild soap and water.
